Introduction to Bushcraft (1 day):

Introduction to Bushcraft Skills (1 day - Saturdays):
Lunch will be burgers cooked over the muurikka served with all the trimmings.
Woodland Survival Skills (1 day - Sundays):
Lunch will be sea bass with dauphinoise potatoes. The sea bass will be ponassed by the participants after a demonstration. The potatoes will be prepared by staff in a dutch oven.
Combination Courses (2 days - weekends)
Saturday:
Lunch - fresh burgers cooked over the muurikka served with all the trimmings.
Dinner - Please bring your own food for dinner. We will provided a roaring fire, pans & utensils.
Sunday:
Breakfast - Piping hot porridge with all the trimmings
Lunch - will be sea bass with dauphinoise potatoes.
Snacks: please bring your own snacks, especially high energy snacks.
Participant Kit List:
This list includes equipment and clothing you need for spending time with us at Green Wood Bushcraft. It is important to think carefully about any items you may need that are specific to you as an individual.
Please be aware that incorrect clothing will have a detrimental impact on your experience. Make sure you check the weather forecast before your trip and pack accordingly.
Essential Clothing:
Waterproof jacket and trousers
Insulated layer (fleece jumper or wool, avoid bringing down or synthetic fill jackets)
Breathable base layer (avoid cotton if possible)
Durable trousers (avoid jeans)
Hat (for warmth or sun protection depending on forecast)
Gloves (for warmth or handling natural materials)
Spare socks
Sturdy waterproof boots or walking shoes (no open toe shoes)
Equipment:
Daypack / rucksack (20–30L capacity)
Full water bottle (at least 1 litre)
Packed lunch and snacks (unless provided)
Any personal medication
Personal mug
Personal cutlery and plate
Recommended:
Sunscreen
Sit mat or small camping seat
Personal hand sanitiser

Combination Course - 2 Days Course With Overnight Stay
If you're attending a 2 day course with an overnight stay, you’ll need the following kit for sleeping outdoors and staying comfortable.
Essential Clothing:
Waterproof jacket and trousers

Breathable base layer (avoid cotton if possible)
Durable trousers (avoid jeans)
Hat (for warmth or sun protection depending on forecast)

Sturdy waterproof boots or walking shoes (no open toe shoes)

FOR THE COMBINATION COURSE PLEASE ALSO BRING:
Sleep System:
Personal tent, tarp setup, bivvy, or hammock with tarp
Sleeping bag suitable for expected temperatures
Sleeping mat or underblanket
Camping pillow
Groundsheet (if sleeping under tarp or bivvy)
Additional Clothing:
Extra base layers
Spare trousers
Spare fleece or warm mid-layer
Extra socks and underwear
Beanie or warm hat (even in summer – UK nights can be cold)
Sleepwear (recommended)
Closed toe camp shoes (optional)
Personal Items:
Toothbrush, toothpaste and toiletries
Biodegradable soap or wipes
Small towel or flannel
Toilet paper or tissues (in zip-lock bag to keep dry)
Headtorch with spare batteries
Camp light or lantern
Cook kit and food for dinner (cook on the campfire or bring a gas stove)
Small rubbish bag for personal rubbish
Cooking items:
Pot/pan for cooking evening meal
Cooking and eating utensils
Optional Extras:
Notebook
Power bank
Earplugs
Drybags or zip-locks to keep gear dry
Important Considerations
Cotton clothing is not recommended — it absorbs moisture and dries slowly.
You are responsible for the security of your own belongings.
Please label all personal kit, especially sleeping bags and mats.
As always Leave No Trace — please pack out all personal equipment and waste at the end of your course.
