Green Wood Bushcraft
Green Wood Bushcraft delivers holistic bushcraft courses to small groups in the great outdoors. Our courses are fun, accessible and rooted in practical knowledge.
Unlike the majority of outdoor activity providers we reject a fast paced, turn taking framework. Instead, we foster a culture of skill sharing, hands on experience and group engagement. The way bushcraft is supposed to be taught.
Come and discover how to create fire using primitive methods, construct shelter from woodland materials and sorce food from nature.
Our Courses
This course explores four fundamental pillars of Bushcraft: Food, Water, Fire, and Shelter. These vital aspects of survival will be the blueprint of this one day course.
Gain practical skills through a balance of demonstration, theory and hands-on experience. Expect guided fire lighting, trap making, water purification and survival shelters.
Suitable for all ages and experience. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
This is a scenario based experience where your survival skills will be put to the test.
In this course you will be encouraged to work in a team to meet the requirements of woodland survival. Your instructor will be guiding you through the objectives and demonstrating all necessary skills to survive the woods. Expect hands-on, primitive firelighting, camp craft and natural cordage.
This is the more advanced of the two courses. We expect participants to have some understanding of basic bushcraft skills.
Join us for an immersive two day bushcraft experience. This course combines the introduction to bushcraft and woodland survival course. This combined course teaches you the fundamentals of bushcraft before honing your skills in a woodland survival scenario. Stay overnight for an unforgettable experience under the stars.
Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The decision to start my own company was a long time coming. As an instructor I felt that many organisations missed the mark when it came to the spirit of bushcraft. As a result, I decided to create Green Wood Bushcraft.
This project is born out of a life-long dedication to outdoor living skills. I have poured all my experience into developing courses that are both accessible and empowering, fun, yet challenging. I incorporate everything I love about the outdoor industry whilst rejecting a fast paced, insincere approach.
Bushcraft is an expansive and empowering subject. I have seen people burst into tears of joy after getting their first ember using a bow drill. This joy is what I aim to incorporate in every course I develop and session I run.
After teaching outdoor living skills for nearly a decade my passion for the subject has only grown. I have worked for forest schools, lead international expeditions and everything in between. I hope you join us on a course that will not only develop your bushcraft skills but your character and your appreciation of the natural world.
